Process Server

Data Surveys, Inc. is seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Process Server to deliver legal documents accurately, legally, and efficiently throughout Michigan. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining professionalism in often sensitive situations.

This position requires excellent time management, strong communication skills, and the ability to accurately document every service attempt in compliance with court requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Personally serve legal documents, including:
- Summons and Complaints
- Subpoenas
- Civil Litigation paperwork
Verify identities before completing service.
Document each service attempt thoroughly with dates, times, addresses, observations, and outcomes.
Complete accurate Affidavits of Service and other required documentation.
Photograph addresses and service locations when appropriate.
Conduct skip tracing using available databases and investigative techniques when individuals cannot be located.
Communicate status updates promptly to office staff and clients.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
Comply with Michigan laws governing service of process.
Maintain organized electronic records of completed assignments.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Prior process serving, investigative, law enforcement, legal, or military experience preferred but not required.
Valid Michigan driver's license.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Proof of automobile insurance.
Smartphone capable of using GPS, email, and mobile reporting applications.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
